Hawks Advance to Semi Finals
Oct 6, 2009, 9:51 pm

The Cambridge Hawks advanced to semi-final play with a hard fought 4-3 win over the Hamilton Tigers on March 15.

The Hawks' win places them ahead of the Tigers in third place at the end of round robin playoffs, set to meet the St. Catharines Hurricanes in the semi-finals beginning March 18.
The Hawks are now 2-0-1 in their last three games and looking to build on the momentum to carry them through the next round. Strong goaltending from Brandon Phillips, good defensive work and scoring from all lines has contributed to the Hawks' success.

The Hawks and Hurricanes are both undefeated at home in previous meetings this season and the Hurricanes will have home ice advantage in the upcoming best of 3 series. But don't count out the Hawks yet. This team plays its best when challenged the most.

Come out and watch some action-packed hockey. You'll get the whole seat but only need the edge!

Coach's Corner

GOOD START BOYS
Nov 8, 2009, 1:08 pm

Its been a great start to the 2009-10 Midget MD season with a fresh blend of 92 and 93 players.  Im very impressed how well each of you have brought up your game and molded well with new team mates.  This is not an easy transition for people as you get used to who your playing with.  You boys have stepped it up and worked that extra mile to get to know the other players you didnt play with in previous years.  Way to Go!!!!!

We are heading into a busy time shortly with a couple tournaments and I know guys will pull through with flying colors.

The biggest issue to date is our health, with all the problems out there today we have only played one game this season with a full roster, combined with suspensions we are really having to play strong.  Lets keep it up and try and stay healthy.

I will continue to push each of you harder to increase your game skills and knowledge and feel free to talk to any of the coaching staff regarding your play.  we are a fast team with some great skills and we need to show that every time we hit the ice...take no one for granted and dont let anyone take us for granted.  LEAVE NOTHING ON THE ICE...POSSESSION WINS!

Again i thank each of you for your time and consideration at each game and practice and look forward to a great year.

Sincerely,

Ross
